Tattoo Waiver Analytics

When your tattoo template has Tattoo Details turned on, the artist records a few facts at the end of each session: who did the work, which pigment colors and manufacturers were used, the dye lot or batch number and the pigment's expiration date. Tattoo Waiver Analytics adds those records up to show which artists bring in the most work, which pigments you actually use, and which bottles on the shelf are expired or close to it.

This guide explains the three tattoo sections of the Analytics screen: Tattoo Artist Performance, Pigment Usage Overview and Pigment Expiration Status. For the shared controls (date chips, filters, full screen), see the Analytics overview.

In short: the artist fills in Tattoo Details during the session → Analytics groups those entries by artist, color, manufacturer and expiration date → you pick a date range and read the leaderboard, the top pigments and the expiration risk table.

Where the data comes from

Everything is taken from the Tattoo Details section of each submission, which the artist fills in after the client has done their part. If the template has Tattoo Details switched off, or the artist leaves a field empty, that submission doesn't appear in the matching chart.

  • Artist name feeds Tattoo Artist Performance.
  • Pigment color and manufacturer feed Pigment Usage Overview.
  • Dye lot / batch and expiration date feed Pigment Expiration Status.

The tattoo sections appear once your account has a tattoo template. Tap the Analytics card on the dashboard and scroll past the universal sections.

Tattoo Artist Performance

"Tattoo submissions from artists." How work is spread across your artists, and who signed the most clients in a period.

Element What it does
Date chips Calendar icon for a custom range, or 7 d, 30 d, 90 d, 180 d, 365 d.
TOP PERFORMER The artist with the most submissions in the range, with their count and share.
TOTAL SUBMISSIONS "Across all artists in period": every tattoo submission with an artist recorded.
Search artists Type part of a name to narrow the leaderboard to matching artists.
Waiver Forms dropdown Limit the figures to one or more tattoo templates.
# Count / % Percentage Show the bars as raw numbers or as a share of the total.
Artist Leaderboard "Top N performers by volume": a bar per artist, longest at the top. Tap the full-screen icon to see every artist when the list is long.

To read it: pick the range, then switch to % Percentage to compare artists against each other rather than count sessions. Names come straight from what was typed in Tattoo Details, so an artist whose name was entered two ways appears twice.

If nothing matches, the section reads "No artists found for the selected filters." Widen the date range or clear the filters.

Screen needed: the Tattoo Artist Performance section expanded on a phone, 90 d selected, with a TOP PERFORMER banner naming an artist and an Artist Leaderboard of at least three artists in # Count mode. Show: the TOP PERFORMER banner and the share shown as "x% of total".

Pigment Usage Overview

"Tattoo pigments and manufacturers used" What pigments you actually use, which helps with reordering and shows which brands your artists prefer.

Element What it does
Date chips Same chips as above. The subtitle updates to the chosen range.
PIGMENT ENTRIES The number of pigment lines logged in the range ("Logged in last 365 d" when 365 d is selected). One session can log several pigments, so this is usually higher than your submission count.
PIGMENTS "Distinct color names used": how many different colors appear.
MANUFACTURERS "Manufacturers identified": how many different brands appear.
Search color or brand… Narrow both lists to entries matching what you type.
Pigments dropdown Show only the selected colors.
Manufacturers dropdown Show only the selected brands.
Top Colors "All manufacturers": a bar per color with a color dot and a count, for example Black 11, Red 3.
Top Manufacturers "All colors": a bar per brand with a count, for example Crazy Ink 11.

To read it: start with the three count blocks, then use the two lists together. Selecting a manufacturer under All Manufacturers narrows the lists to that brand, so you can see which Crazy Ink colors you go through fastest. Each block and list has its own full-screen icon.

Color and manufacturer names are grouped without regard to capitalization, so "Black", "BLACK" and "black" count as one pigment. Spelling still matters: "Dark brown" and "Dk brown" stay separate.

If no pigments were logged in the range, the section reads "No tattoo pigment usage data for this period."

Screen needed: the Pigment Usage Overview section on a phone with the PIGMENT ENTRIES, PIGMENTS and MANUFACTURERS blocks and the Top Colors list showing four or five colours with their colour dots and counts. Show: the colour dot and count next to each bar in Top Colors.

Long ranges: up to 180 days the chart works day by day; beyond that it groups entries by month. The longest range you can choose for pigment usage is 365 days.

Pigment Expiration Status

"Tattoo pigment expiration status from recorded dates" Check this before you restock: every recorded expiration date is sorted into four statuses.

Status block Meaning
EXPIRED (red) The recorded expiration date is in the past.
EXPIRING SOON (orange) The expiration date is within the next 180 days, roughly the next six months.
NO RECORD (grey) The pigment was logged without an expiration date.
VALID (green) The expiration date is more than 180 days away.

Tap any status block to filter the table below to that status.

Element What it does
Date chips Which pigment entries are included, based on when they were recorded.
Search batch or color… Find a specific dye lot or color.
Risk Table "Sortable list by countdown, color, or batch." Columns: Color, Manufacturer, Dye Lot / Batch, Expiration Date, Countdown. The rows can be sorted by countdown, color or batch.
Countdown chip "Expired" or the days remaining, for example "In 201 d".
View N more rows in Full Screen The card shows the first few rows; tap this link to open the full table.

To read it: tap EXPIRED first and take those bottles off the shelf, then EXPIRING SOON sorted by Countdown to plan your next order. A large NO RECORD count means artists are skipping the expiration date when they log a pigment.

If no expiration dates were recorded in the range, the section reads "No tattoo pigment expiration data for this period."

Screen needed: the Pigment Expiration Status section on a phone with non-zero EXPIRED, EXPIRING SOON, NO RECORD and VALID blocks and a Risk Table of four or five rows showing an "Expired" chip and an "In N d" chip in the Countdown column. Show: the four coloured status blocks above the table.

Good to know

  • Empty fields are skipped. A submission whose Tattoo Details were left blank doesn't appear in these charts, and the pigment it used won't show in the expiration table.
  • Consistent names give better charts. Agree with your artists on how to spell colors, brands and their own names. Capitalization is forgiven; typos are not.
  • Deleted templates no longer appear in the All Waiver Forms filter.
